Roman blinds fall into two categories.

A hard roman blind is made with blockout blind fabric. A soft roman blind is made with curtain fabric and a blockout lining.

Both these designs are meant to go on the face of the window.  5cm past on each side, 15cm above and 20 cms below the window.
